Well Piece (2026) has come to be a site of connection and reflection. Like a shrine or a wishing well, it draws viewers closer and encourages them to look inwards meditatively, but also outwards towards the faces of others who may stand opposite them. It is a model for a counter-structure of connection in a world that often forces us to be apart.
There is a conversation opened up between materials – there is a harshness to the manufactured metal against hand-formed, fired earth, though also artificial in its act of representation. Here, the materials mediate a reflection on our relationship to the environment, our constant reshaping and extraction of it and what we choose to consume.
